{one willow}

Different for me, yes I know. I struggled with the courage to post it but I appreciate so many types of photography styles and really want to continue to stretch myself as a photographer so I pushed through my doubts today and shared.

The is the view out of the front of our home at sunrise. We planted this one willow when we first moved into our house about six years ago. It symbolizes so many things for us and I love watching it grow each year.

This is the first year I have 'truly' been into photography, by that I mean, actually understanding it a bit. I still have so much to learn and right now I am totally learning about the shift I need to make as the seasons change. I only use Natural Light and I have noticed that as the weather changes I too have to make adjustments. My adored lemon-y sun filled skies are very few these days. Autumn slipped by way to fast and the leaves are now very scarce on the trees. The days are much shorter and often filled with mist and grey sky's. I am determined to find the beauty in this and am really looking forward to this new chapter in my journey.

My daughter's eyes change to the colors that are surrounding her. I never noticed it as much until I began photographing her in different settings. They always have a greenish tint but the levels of brown and blue vary. This particular one amazed me because it was the first time I had seen one eye color look so obviously different than the other... kinda Kate Bosworth-ish. :) I am sure the lighting and shadows played a role but I still thought it looked intense nonetheless!

To process this I made a few small adjustment and tweaks in Lightroom and PS, then applied the following textures...

It continues to be such an honor to work along side of the very talented Rebecca Lily.  Our dippy's have been so fun and packed full of adventure... I just love them! I also wanted to mention that we are never together for our diptych photoshoots. In this case, totally different enchanted forests. :) Who knows maybe one day we'll get to have an actual shoot together!

a note and {in golden fields}

I have been getting quite a few emails wondering about my Lightroom Presets and want to share with you all, that because of some recent personal reasons, I have decided not to create any more of them. I will still support the one's I have already created and if you are interested getting them please email me at onewillowphotography (at) yahoo (dot) com.
