Today is his big day!

ETA: I just saw that the theme this week at I heart faces is blue and the feature judge is my all time fave photographer... Sheye Rosemeyer! and I'm not just saying that because she's the judge... :) If you follow my blog and flickr stream you'll know that I ♥ my eye candy actions created by Sheye! Anyways, its my little man's birthday today so I decided to go ahead and enter his birthday photo I already posted today.

I guess my photo was not showing up at all yesterday... not sure why?? I just reloaded, I can see it so I hope you all can... weird?!?

{frozen in time}

The rarest of rare and I captured it!!! I know that this image isn't the best technically. We had just come from hiking in the woods and my ISO was way high from the low light in there. I told the boys to have a seat on the bench so that I could tend to the baby and this is what I saw. In shear and utter panic I grabbed my camera tried to snap some shots while I was adjusting my settings and caught this one! I wish I could say that this was their loving relationship all the time but they are ALL boy and brothers that are just 4 months apart... you get it!! A few snaps later they realized that they were acting as if they liked one another and started pushing each other away. But I got it... the moment of brotherly love frozen in time! :)

This is our second collaboration and I am just as excited as if it were the first. It continues to be such an honor to post along the side of such an incredibly sweet and talented artist and friend. I love this photo of our daughters for so many reasons but most importantly I love how it represents the innocence and fun of childhood.

This photo is of my middle son playing with his dinosaurs in Dinoland (the fields behind our home). He has such an amazing imagination, I just love to sit back and watch it at work.

Last weekend G and I took a trip to dino land (the fields behind our home). It was a great adventure and a great ploy for this mamarazzi to get some shots of her busy boy :)

This photo makes me happy. I'm going to take a week off from posting. I need some time to get some things in order around here. It's been a difficult week and I think I just need to re-group and start fresh :) Hopefully I'll be back in touch with my camera soon. I also want to apologize for not commenting much this week, time has just gotten away from me. I really appreciate each and every comment that is left here, they make my day.

Hope you like the new look. A subtle change, but I felt the need to beauty it up a bit. Thanks so much Jen.

{freckles}

I captured this while my daughter was playing at the park, I love when she is just a bit flushed in the cheeks from playing and her hair is wispy from the wind. This is one of those captures when my daughters beauty is the most nature and stunning to me. If you click to make the picture larger you will see that she is developing freckles...I absolutely adore it!

{black and white}

I absolutely adore black and white conversions. When I first started processing I thought a conversion was simply clicking a button and you were good to go. I have since learned alot and have been playing with my conversions to try and avoid the 'grey' skin. What I have found is that I love high contrast and that I like my black and whites to start out overexposed a bit and shadows bumped up before I desaturate them. I also like a hint of chocolate added. I think I have finally figured it out with some help from action recipes. Here's the lovely N in my favorite BW conversion to date...

As you know, I have been having a hard time capturing a smile out of our little J-man when he sees the camera. I've been making the mistake of prompting him which has resulted in the full ,show your teeth, my mom is making me smile grin. He is normally full of smiles....so, I just put a sheet over a couch and let him jump. At last, I captured the real deal, here it is...
