Today is his big day!

ETA: I just saw that the theme this week at I heart faces is blue and the feature judge is my all time fave photographer... Sheye Rosemeyer! and I'm not just saying that because she's the judge... :) If you follow my blog and flickr stream you'll know that I ♥ my eye candy actions created by Sheye! Anyways, its my little man's birthday today so I decided to go ahead and enter his birthday photo I already posted today.

I guess my photo was not showing up at all yesterday... not sure why?? I just reloaded, I can see it so I hope you all can... weird?!?

A little sneak peek... One of my little guys is turning five this week, so we had ourselves a little photo shoot this evening! He had such a wonderful time and his imagination is mine all over again. Processed using My Retro Bliss Preset available HERE  and a few Eye Candy Actions.

{Soft Vintage Princess} JPEG VERSION

For all my jpeg friends... I took my most popular RAW Lightroom preset Soft Vintage Princess and made a comparable version for jpeg. I would LOVE for someone to give me some feedback on this one. My concern is the White Balance, you may have to adjust the temp more towards blue if it appears there is too much of a yellow cast. Please let me know and I'll adjust the preset and repost if necessary! Hope you like ♥

{frozen in time}

The rarest of rare and I captured it!!! I know that this image isn't the best technically. We had just come from hiking in the woods and my ISO was way high from the low light in there. I told the boys to have a seat on the bench so that I could tend to the baby and this is what I saw. In shear and utter panic I grabbed my camera tried to snap some shots while I was adjusting my settings and caught this one! I wish I could say that this was their loving relationship all the time but they are ALL boy and brothers that are just 4 months apart... you get it!! A few snaps later they realized that they were acting as if they liked one another and started pushing each other away. But I got it... the moment of brotherly love frozen in time! :)

Free Tutorial

Kim Bear from the fabulous Kim Bear Photography has invited me to be a guest host on October 6th for her Photoshop and Photography tutorial. The workshop will be an informal-web meeting and will begin at 9:00 CST and last approximately one hour. I'll be discussing shooting in RAW, importing and adjusting in Lightroom and finishing up with final processing in Photoshop. I believe this might be one of the most powerful images I have ever captured. It is so packed full of metaphors about being a teenager. I love that you can't tell exactly why he has his head buried. Is he praying? Is he thinking? or perhaps feeling the pull of all the pressures teens are faced with everyday. I love the contrast of the light and darkness, signifying decision making and choices.
