The greatest gift photography has given to me is the ability to see. To see the beauty in the places I used to pass by without a second glance. This field is one of those places. It has been behind me for six years but it wasn't until this year that I began to appreciate its beauty. It has become the place I go to heal, to create, to breathe in the amazing gifts He has surrounded me with...a true blessing:)

I planted a little patch of wildflowers on the edge of our garden this year. My kids love these, I think it's all the colors together and the fact that I let them pick them! While I was editing this photo my daughter came in and handed me this very flower, I had to chuckle :)

The theme this week at i ♥ faces is feet :) Last week we traveled south and visited with family. These cutie feet are my little cousins aka 'the wonder twins'. I was so thrilled to have the chance to photograph them, tricky with two at four months but they are the sweetest little babies...I loved every minute I got to spend with them.

{these old boots}

These old boots were handed down to my daughter from her cousin. They have been through plenty of dirt stompin' giving them some character :) She just loves them! The little wildflower bouquet she is holding was hand picked by her little four year old brothers...unprompted...how sweet is that?!?

Hope you all are well, I'm slowly making my way back and have a few ideas for some still life photos ahead :)

{renewal}

I'm not sure why I go through this every so often but I feel the need for some renewal again. I struggle with my 'photography voice' and I just feel like I need to recapture the passion I once had. Maybe it's the busy summer taking a toll but I'm going to step away from the computer for a bit and renew. I'm sure it won't be for long but I've got 70 fingers and 70 toes needing some attention right now (seriously thats how many). Talk soon :)

Oh, I have been way overdue on posting pictures of our little J-man but he just hasn't been into the photo shoots or even looking any where near the camera BUT today he gave me ten seconds in good lighting (seriously ten seconds) and finally here it is...
